What do we do at Pack 1607?
VIRTUAL CAMP
The first "camp" of the year is held in the comfort of your own home.
First, set up a tent or build a fort in your room, house or garden.
We then meet in a local park for some kind of activity. In the past we have done a campfire, roasted marshmallows, and used a telescope to look at the moon.
Then we go home, get ready for bed, and log on for a bed-time story via zoom.
If you have friends in the Pack, you can turn this into a sleepover!

SCOUTING FOR FOOD
This activity takes place over 2 Saturdays in November.

The 1st Saturday we distribute bags or flyers to houses in the local area.

The 2nd Saturday we re-visit those houses, pick up the food donations, then take them to the collection site.
FIRST AID & CPR
Talk to anyone who has been in Scouts and most will agree that one of the most important skills they learned in Scouts was how to react to an emergency.

It is never too early to learn and this event aims to teach beginner level responses to first aid, weather and emergency situations.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Do you know what to do if your stove catches on fire?

Or what to do during a tornado?

Every year we learn things about potential emergencies and how (as a young kid) we should react to them.
WINTER CAMP OUT
One of our favorite events of the year.
We rent a cabin at a local Scout camp and have all sorts of adventures.

If you're a die hard camper, you can always bring a tent and sleep outside!
However, the majority of us choose a bunk in the heated cabin.

PINEWOOD DERBY
This age old Cub Scout tradition remains a favorite well into the 21st Century.
Pack 1607 will provide each registered Cub with a car kit that can be transformed into the racer of their imagination.
On race day they compete against their Den mates on our electronic timed track.
We also have races for siblings and adults.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
As well as our annual participation in Scouting for Food, we have made Christmas Cards & gifts for local seniors, collected gifts or supplies for local families in need, and performed trash collection at local parks
SCIENCE NIGHT
The content for this meeting changes but could include presentations from local organizations, STEM projects and team building tasks.

EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS
At its roots Scouting is an outdoor and leadership program.
We get outside for fun activities such as nature hikes & geocaching.

ROCKET DAY
3,2,1, Lift Off!

Build your own model rocket and launch it in one of our local parks!

This Pack event is always a blast!

SPRING TENT CAMP
Smores, campfire cooking, fishing, hiking are just some of the activities we enjoy at our spring tent campout
PACK PICNIC
& CROSSOVER
The end of the Scouting year, at this celebratory picnic your Cub moves up to the next level of Scouts and on to new adventures.
