The Cub Scout Uniform
Everyone recognizes the Scout Uniform, it is an important part of our history and tradition.
Wearing the uniform brings us together as a family, that no matter the grade or school we attend, we are all part of the Pack.
We have 2 local Scout Shops where you can buy everything you will need for your Cub Scout.
The Staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to help.

Pack 1607 Shopping List
Field Uniform
"Class A"
For Tigers, Wolves and Bears
(1st through 3rd grades)
the Cub Scout uniform is a:

den specific baseball cap

The shirt will need a US flag, a world crest and council patch sewing on. For a small fee the Scout Shop can sew them on for you.
Pack 1607 will provide your first set of pack numbers upon joining the pack, the neckerchief and slide
For Lions through Bear the adventure awards take the form of belt loops. These metal loops slide right on to the official Cub Scout belt.

Pro Tip: Carefully crimp the loops once they are on the belt so they don't fall off so easily. (place a piece of cardboard around the loop so the paint doesn't get chipped)
Lion Cubs (Kindergarten) have their own uniform which consists of the Lion Cub T-Shirt, baseball cap and cub scout belt.

The pants are optional but do look smarter, fit the belt well and are hard wearing for all Scout activities.

Pack 1607 will supply the neckerchief and slide once the Lions complete the appropriate adventure award.
Once your Cub Scout reaches Webelos in 4th Grade they can progress to the tan and olive Scout uniform.

Webelos are distinguished from Scouts by the navy blue shoulder loops and plaid baseball cap.
​
If your Cub Scout has not yet out-grown their blue uniform they can continue to wear this with the plaid baseball cap.

Pack 1607 will supply the neckerchief and and slide.
​
In Webelos and Arrow of Light the adventure awards are in the form of a pin. These can be attached to the baseball cap or to the Webelos Colors.
"Class A" Uniform is worn for all Pack Meetings, Den Meetings and any community events that call for a smart appearance such as parades or visiting a senior center.
Any exceptions to this rule will be announced.
Activity Uniform
"Class B"
In Cub Scouts it is not always appropriate to wear the Field Uniform. We have a lot of opportunities to get outdoors so we have an activity uniform which consists of a Cub Scout T-shirt and either Cub pants/shorts/skort or jeans/regular pants.

Pack 1607 has an activity shirt that can be purchased at Pack Meetings or you can purchase shirts from the Scout Shops.
​
"Class B" uniform is typically worn for Pack Events
Cub Scout Handbooks
Each Den has its own handbook. Whilst not necessary to participate in our Pack Program, this is the easiest way to keep track of your Cub's progress towards their Den award.

Check with the Cub Master or New Member Chair Person to see if the Council is holding any special offers on handbooks.
