Approximately $400 for the year

Scouting America Membership is currently $170.This covers national registration, insurance and administrative costs of the organization.

Pack Dues are $200. This come directly to the Pack and covers the majority of our activities for the year.

There an additional fee for our campouts to cover food costs.

Our main program runs from September thru May, with intermittent activities in June, July, and August.

That is less than $45 a month!

In addition to our Pack program, members can sign up as a family for activities run by Michigan Crossroads Council.

Can we only join at the beginning of the school year?

No. Joining at the beginning of the school gives your Cub the best chance to achieve there grade Adventure award, but you can join at any point during the year.
Your Den leader can give you links to resources to catch up on any grade adventures the Den has already completed.

Do I have to stay with my kid for the meetings?

The short answer is yes.
A designated adult needs to be present throughout the meeting.
The program and activities are run by adult volunteers but encourage all parents to jump in and assist.
Siblings are welcome to tag along if needed.

Bring your own activity to entertain them and we will involve them too when appropriate.

Is Cub Scouts still relevant in the 21st Century?

Again, the short answer is yes!
The goals of Scouting (apart from having fun) is to teach outdoor & leadership skills and the program works!
Every year we have 5th graders leading games for the younger Cubs, 3rd graders planning Pack activities, and by the end of the year, kindergarteners are volunteering to get on stage to lead the whole group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

There are very few extra curricular programs that bring boys and girls from multiple grades together in the same activities, teaching them to be kind and helpful to each other.
